Synchronized Swimming/Artistic Swimming
Hello everyone! This is my new blogging account, and as my first post, I was told to write about and share my thoughts about my favorite Olympic sport, Synchronized Swimming (now called Artistic Swimming).
I like artistic swimming because it's a nice and creative way of swimming. It's a mix of my two favorite things, swimming and dancing - if dancing in the shower counts!
I chose Artistic Swimming because it has so much HISTORY. It was invented in Germany 1891 and has been part of the Olympics since 1984. Some people just watch it because they think is funny (and I cant say that I didn't start watching it for that same reason) but now I'm interested in the creativity and how they match underwater dancing to the music.
Anyway click on this link to see my research on Artistic Swimming!
Wow Olive what a fantastic first post! I like how your personal voice and humour has come through in your blurb. I had never really watched synchronised swimming until this years Olympics. The Tarantula one was AMAZING! Great research on your slides, maybe next time, as you are finding your way around google and chromebooks (which you have done very well I must say) you could add some images to each slide to make them more visual. Keep up the great work!
ReplyDeleteKia ora Olive. Welcome to the world of blogging. I agree with Miss Daly, what a great first post! I wonder why they changed the name to artistic swimming. Any ideas? You've put a lot of work into your slides. Maybe you could use the explore tool to add some images to fill up some of the gaps?
ReplyDeleteMōrena Olive, this is a fantastic first blog post - congratulations! I found the facts very interesting, and like you I really enjoy watching the Artistic Swimming because I think it takes great strength to be able to hold yourself in those positions in the pool (and I love both swimming and dancing!) Did you know that Berlin is the capital of Germany, like Wellington is the capital of NZ? Maybe one day, when the world opens up to travel again, you can visit the birthplace of this fantastic sport. I'm looking forward to reading your posts throughout lockdown. I hope everyone in your bubble is well. Take care of each other, stay safe and be kind. :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your comments I did an extra proof read and changed some things as well as put in some photos!
ReplyDeleteAwesome work Olive. It sounds like you really like this sport. You have done a fantastic job on your DLO especially with all the great images and information. Keep up the good work.
