3D ART

3D ART WITH OLIVE

Aloha everyone! So today on my blog, i'm going to be telling you about my amazing art classes.

This week as our art project we were given the task to draw some 3D drawings. I did this with my dad, we had a load of laughs!

One of the cool things about 3D is that, if you get the shadows right you can really see the drawing as if its popping out or going into the piece of paper!

SOME HELPFUL TIPS:
  • If you're ever drawing fire, NEVER give it a shadow! (because it's light itself, it can't have a shadow in real life!)
  • Always use a ruler when possible to draw straighter lines. It will give it a more real effect.
  • Pencils and erasers are ALWAYS your friends.
  • If you're having trouble seeing your picture in 3D, try taking photos from different angles.
  • 3D draw things you love, things you see everyday, and even imaginary things!
Have a happy, healthy day!

Lolly Cake!!!

LOLLY CAKE

Selamat pagi bloggers! (That's good morning in Indonesian which I learned at my school in Melbourne!)

Today I'd like to tell you about my favourite things we did in lock down online school this week which were:
  • Sharing our home baking

Writing and baking are two of my most favourite things so I am going to share how I made lolly cake with you all so you can make it with your family to.

How to make the Best Lolly Cake on Earth!

What you will need!

Glad Wrap

1 Wooden Spoon

1 bowl

1 knife

1 pot

1/2 a can of Condensed Milk

1/2 - 2 cups of Coconut

1 pack of Malt Biscuits

1 - 1/2 bags of Pasco's Explorers lollies

100g of Butter

Method:

First, start by cutting (or breaking) your Explorers and put them in your bowl.
Once you have done, that crush your Malt Biscuits and put them in the bowl with your Explorers.
After that, put you 100g of butter and your 1/2 a can of Condensed Milk in a pot and make sure that you mix it regularly and take it off the heat once the butter is all melted.
Then pour your melted butter and Condensed Milk in the bowl with the biscuits and Explorers.
Mix together until well combined and make sure its not too wet, otherwise it will not hold in a log.
Now roll into a log and put the Coconut on a chopping board, and roll the log onto the Coconut to make a covering on it.
Once that is done, cover in Glad Wrap, put on a plate, and make room for it in the fridge!
Let it set for 3 - 5 hours and eat it for dessert with a cup of tea!

Anna Grimaldi

Anna Grimaldi (DLO)

Bonjour Bloggers! I hope you're having a great week. So, these past few weeks at my lovely new school we have been doing Literacy (which is Reading and Writing), Maths, and then there's the extra activities which includes Technology, Maori, Art, Fitness.

For example, for our Fitness we have been challenged to walk the length of NZ. That's 2090 km! Walking that far is too boring so I've been trying to roller skate my way to Invercargill.

Anyway the main reason I'm blogging today is to tell you about the Paralympic superstar, Anna Grimaldi.
Anna Grimaldi is 24 and has been to the last Paralympic Games at Rio and is at the 2021 Tokyo Paralympic's as well. Her disability is classified as T47 with a weak arm and a non-usable hand.

She has achieved many different goals. She is a spectacular Long Jumper and a great Sprinter. She won gold for New Zealand in Long Jumping 100m and 200m. The Queen gave Anna was the award of the New Zealand Order of Merit in the 2017 New Years Honors, for her services to athletics.

When Anna was interviewed after winning at the Rio Paralympic Games she said:
"Big championships give you so much motivation. There's so much you can do and I'm really excited for the next four years."
I chose Anna as my focus for my DLO because I look up to her. I may not love sport and athletics but she is an amazing person doing the best she can with an unusable arm and hand. I wrote this Haiku to celebrate Anna as a person as well as an Athlete.
